The success of our Meals on Wheels program is largely due to the number of, and the quality of our volunteers. Each day we require between 7 - 10 volunteers in the kitchen to prepare the meals, and several volunteers to deliver the meals to our clients. We have 19 teams (a driver and a delivery person) that travel throughout the County every day to deliver nutritious and appealing meals. To help us with our wide geographic distribution, Pathways, Inc. help transfer meals daily from our central kitchen to the United Methodist Church in Horseheads for distribution by our Horseheads drivers and volunteers.
Our volunteers demonstrate care, friendship and kindness daily as they brighten the lives of so many local residents that do not have the means to either prepare or procure their meals. Thanks to our volunteers, our program continues to be a vital part of our community.

Driver : This position uses their own car and takes another person with them to help deliver the meals to the clients. Mileage reimbursment is available if requested., Most routes take about 1 hour and start leaving the building at 10:30am.
Delivery Person : This position rides with a driver and takes the meals into a clients home. This position is our eyes and ears, checking on the client to make sure they are ok. Time commitment is approximatley 1 hour between 10:30am and 12:30pm
