The success of our Meals on Wheels program is largely due to the number of, and the quality of our volunteers. Each day we require between 7 - 10 volunteers in the kitchen to prepare the meals, and several volunteers to deliver the meals to our clients. We have 17 teams (a driver and a delivery person) that travel throughout the County every day to deliver nutritious and appealing meals. To help us with our wide geographic distribution, Pathways, Inc. help transfer meals daily from our central kitchen to the United Methodist Church in Horseheads for distribution by our Horseheads drivers and volunteers.
Our volunteers demonstrate care, friendship and kindness daily as they brighten the lives of so many local residents that do not have the means to either prepare or procure their meals. Thanks to our volunteers, our program continues to be a vital part of our community.
